Glimpse.Glean.Grow is a group that is seeking to encourage individuals to embark on a journey of daily personal  Bible study. Our journey through the Bible will be guided by three (3) questions about the passages we are reading.

  1. Glimpse: What is this passage saying? This question is meant to increase our Bible knowledge and help us gain a better understanding of the flow of the Bible.
  2. Glean: What do I learn about God? Gleaning is a farming word that means to gather bit by bit. We could use this study to become theologians and read lots of commentaries filled with others opinions and thoughts about God; HOWEVER, that is not the purpose of our study. This question is meant to get us to look for God and identify His character in the Bible.
  3. Grow: How does what I have learned change my life? God says in James 1:23-24 “For if anyone is a hearer of the Word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror; for once he has looked at himself and gone away, he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was.” This question encourages us to identify areas of our lives that need to change as a result of what we have learned.
  4. (Wonder): This is not an official question, but a space created at the bottom of each day’s study.  We often ask our children to wonder about God, but as adults we often don’t want to wonder about God; we want to define God. As we read, we can use this space to write questions we have about what we are reading? These questions can be posted on the Glimpse.Glean.Grow. blog, shared at our sharing meeting, or prayed over.

We hope you find this blog a place where you can be encouraged and be an encouragement to others as we journey to know our God better.
